What an awesome find! This darling cafe sits on the south shores of Lake Washington and has a lovely deck with views overlooking the lake. Service was outstanding and drinks and breakfast were absolutely delicious. We went for a breakfast date and shared the Chicken Fried Steak with homemade biscuits and gravy. Wow! Possibly the best Chicken Fried Steak I’ve ever had. We couldn’t pass up the bakery next door and took home homemade donuts and cinnamon rolls.

The Stone House Cafe has been around since the 1920’s when it originally opened as a Collier Service Station. In the 1960’s it closed until 2015 when it reopened as a Cafe and Bakery. This family owned restaurant serves fresh local cuisine, craft spirits, beer and wine. Definitely add this to

Jay Berry’s Cafe has a lovely little patio with picnic tables and you can order off the happy hour menu! The waitstaff is friendly and prompt. Emily did an outstanding job recommending the Bacon Wrapped Scallops, Greek Salad and Artichoke Dip. Everything was delicious and during happy hour appetizers are only $6! Jay Berry’s is one of our favorites. It also happens to be the location of our first date! Not only do they have a great happy hour breakfast is delicious. I recommend the Greek omelet.

I personally remember moving to the Seattle area in the late 90’s and marveling at how the Summers NEVER got too hot! Who needs air conditioning out here in the Pacific NW? I was from the Southeast where it literally only cooled down to mid to high 80’s at night and the humidity made the air feel like a warm wet blanket most of the time…

Now flash forward and I freely admit that I have climatized and my wife and I have had A/C in our home for the past seven years and I use it all the time!
