Previously I worked as the COO/Nurse Executive for a local Tacoma Hospital. Prior to that, I worked as an Operating Room Nurse and Director of Nursing. The Leadership qualities obtained through my nursing experience drew me to the field of real estate. More specifically, I was drawn to The Cascade Team for the excellent support and access to resources that benefit both myself and clients.
Roger entered the real estate industry in 2005 during the last boom period. As you know, in 2007, the real estate market made a major correction. We went to being able to over-price our listings and just wait a few weeks until the market prices caught up to if you didn't price your home at or just below the current market value, it would languish on the market and eventually sell for much lower than it would have if it had been properly-priced when first listed. During the market correction, most areas in Washington, with a few exceptions, were losing value at a rate of about 1 percent per month or 12 percent per year. Simply stated, the longer it took to sell your home, the more you would lose. In 2012, the market began to bottom out and now it has shifted to a very strong seller's market. We went to having a few years of inventory to less than two months of inventory. However, having learned a bit from the last market, while increasing, the market prices have not really gone crazy. It is still possible for home buyers to find good affordable housing. As the inventory is so low, expect to experience fierce competition. At The Cascade Team, over 60% of our listings sell within 3 days, 47 receive multiple offers and people who list their homes with The Cascade Team save an average of $12,020 over traditional brokerages. As we brokers study the market closely, it is very important to find a Real Estate Broker that you trust and listen to the advice of that trusted Real Estate Broker to develop and engage the most successful strategy when purchasing or listing your home for sale. While Roger has studied both the commercial and residential real estate, he has chosen the residential real estate market because he gets a special satisfaction from helping people turn their dreams into reality by guiding them through the process of buying and selling their homes.
