If the shoe fits, wear it. And for David Hasselhoff, if the house fits, buy it.
The actor and singer just dropped $1.95 million on a Mediterranean mansion in Calabasas, CA. With a pool, waterfall, spa and outdoor kitchen, the home has “Baywatch” heartthrob written all over it.
By contrast, Hasselhoff’s Encino home, which he sold in April for $3.549 million, was a stately colonial — not exactly what you’d expect for the red-shorts wearing, chest-hair showing lifeguard.
Now Hasselhoff can enjoy a slightly smaller home decked out with several celeb-worthy amenities including 6 updated bathrooms, a family room wet bar, and large master suite with a fireplace, balcony and walk-in closet.
The backyard is perhaps the home’s biggest attraction with 1.5 grassy landscaped acres, a basketball court and poolside patio for outdoor entertaining — though we’re not sure how much entertaining the 60-year-old bachelor is planning. Rumor has it Hasselhoff may be looking to settle down and start a family with 32-year-old girlfriend Hayley Roberts. This is the actor’s first home purchase since his divorce from Pamela Bach in 2006.
The 5,767-square-foot estate last sold in June 2003 for $1.65 million. During the past 10 years, it has been listed 12 times with the price steadily dropping from $2.6 million, according to property records.
