It’s hard to believe that 10 years ago today I told my managing broker at John L Scott that I was leaving and going to start my own brokerage. Back then I had a different business partner named David Field, Doug Young still didn’t have a real estate license, Lori Young was my stager and believe it or not… Zillow only cost $25 per month!
Fast forward to today and here we sit with 25 offices in 5 states (with more to come soon) with several hundred brokers out there doing amazing things.
The most common question I get asked these days is something like this; “Are you surprised or shocked at how much The Cascade Team has grown?”… To which I usually smile and politely say…. “No. We’re right about where I thought we would be, and within the company the feeling of forward growth and momentum is almost palpable.”
Of course there have been some surprises along the way, bumps in the road, unexpected twists and turns for sure… But in the long run… growth and sustainability like we have achieved come from a lot of hard work and well thought out planning. While there are always those almost mythical tales of overnight success, most companies that endure and grow are born on countless long hours, intensive planning, and more often than not the ability to honestly assess oneself, admit missteps and then move forward and evolve.
So today, as I sit here being more than a little introspective I want to say “Thank You” to everyone who has been a part of The Cascade Team’s story. Many of you have been here from near the beginning like Diego, Matt, Laura and Becky. Some have come, gone, and then come back again… And some still came and went in a blink… Yet all of you have left a mark on where we are and what we have become and for that I am very appreciative.
In looking forward to the next 10 years I think the growth and evolution is not only going to continue, but to accelerate. These first 10 years have built a foundation and a discernible identity for us that have put The Cascade Team and all of us in a position where we are poised for growth and to become a true force in the marketplace.
There is of course already new technology and marketing programs in the works which will continue to help separate us from our competition, along with new markets and states that we are about to enter….. But at the core what we have really built and put together is a company of really great, forward thinking people. From the amazing and dedicated support staff, to our managing brokers and all of our agent/brokers out there in the field…. I am so grateful for and proud of each and every one of you. Thank you for adding your page to our story “So far” and thank you in advance for what I know all of you will add to the story still unwritten!
