For the 13th year, The Cascade Team is once again hosting Project Crayon Drive this April! For the young who find themselves at Seattle Children’s Hospital, sometimes the simple things like a coloring book and a few crayons can be as soothing as the trained staff and smiling doctors. Yet, something as simple as crayons often goes overlooked. Each year, Children’s Hospital goes through over 240,000 crayons, but each child only gets a couple to use.

And that’s where The Cascade Team — in partnership with the Children’s Hospital Guild Association and several area merchants — comes in. Throughout the month of April, agents from The Cascade Team will be walking neighborhoods and spreading the word about Project Crayon Drive.

Last year, we collected…

We want to give a big shout out to Estate Fence Company and their owner Byron Bese. Janet and I along with a couple of our neighbors just had our fences done and we couldn’t be happier! We decided to go with their “Clear Cedar” product which is knot free… The cost was about 5% more (So $350 on a $7,000 fence) but the results are about 300 (x) better!

If video below doesn't display please click HERE

Just recently a few of our other neighbors on the street used another fence company which I will not name here. Some of the new fence we did is separated by a small path with the other fencing and the difference is night and day. Just check out the pictures and the video. Scammers are hacking into agent email accounts to track transactions and closings

Although technology has made real estate transactions quicker, more seamless and increasingly transparent, it has also made buyers and sellers vulnerable to hackers and scammers looking to make a quick buck.

In many cases, scams involve criminals posing as real estate agents asking naive buyers for an upfront fee for services in exchange for a quick turnaround time. Other tactics include sending fake emails from associations as a way to gain access to an agent’s personal information.

According to the Miami Herald, real estate agents and their clients have yet another form of…

If you're one of those homeowners who winces a little bit when the property tax bill comes in the mail -- get ready. Preliminary numbers point to a double-digit percentage increase in property taxes when the bill arrives later this month. In addition prices in King County are expected to climb by over 10% again for 2018.

King County will be higher than last year’s by an average of nearly 17 percent, Assessor John Wilson says.  And the bump will cost the owner of a median-valued county home about $700, according to Wilson, who says the state’s new school-funding plan is the main reason.

He says the plan created in response to the state Supreme Court’s landmark McCleary decision will be responsible for about two-thirds of King County’s hike.

Spokane made National Geographic’s ‘Best Cities in the United States’ list this year.

The list of 30 “smaller” cities, compiled by the Nat Geo’s Travel magazine, identified the top U.S. small cities based on things that they think lead to happiness: coffee shops, breweries, music venues, green spaces, galleries, and “Instagrammable moments.”

Spokane:

A high count of record stores, tattoo parlors, vintage clothing boutiques, and coffee shops per capita boosts Washington State’s second largest city to the top of our hipster-friendly and most caffeinated lists for its population category. Bearded and flannel-wearing locals often show up at Garageland, a gastropub/vinyl store downtown (note the dugout canoe hanging over the bar). Summertime…
