Superstitions never seem to die, which is why a lot of people still believe Friday the 13th is an unlucky day.

When it comes to real estate, some superstitions are passed down through generations, especially in certain cultures. The thinking goes that if you follow these superstitions, you’ll increase your luck and sell your home quickly for a good price.

Of course, superstitions won’t sell a home. But if they did, here’s how you’d get lucky in real estate.

Pay attention to numerology

Superstition around specific numbers can play a role in how people price their homes, which homes they won’t buy and even how builders name the floors of a high-rise condo building.

Daily Real Estate News |     Thursday, September 12, 2013    House hunters are increasingly going mobile with their real estate searches, according to a new survey by The Search Agency, a global online marketing firm. Any design process (cars, homes, T-shirts, coffee makers) is usually guided by recognized values of some sort. How those values are interpreted by the designer is what makes the difference between good and bad design.

Good home design is …

1. Shaped by the individuals who live in it

This is No. 1 on my list for a reason — the primary purpose of a home is to serve the specific, individual needs of the home’s occupants, rather than the needs of a generalized house market.

2. Shaped by its environment

At first glance this would seem to be the opposite of the previous definition, but it’s not. In addition to serving its occupants, a home should recognize the influence that…

The Responsive web design from www.TheCascadeTeam.com will resize and reformat page content in response to screen size and resolution. In short, our responsive website is one that looks good and performs well on traditional computers, tablets and smartphone. Its one size fits all – no separate mobile version required!

If you consider that many potential buyers may start their home search on their laptop and then switch to their smartphone throughout the course of the day, it’s only logical to make sure they have the same user-experience from one screen to the other. Having a separate mobile site – that usually has less content and…

For Americans concerned about their privacy, the NSA data grabs are daunting, but what about the data grabs happening inside your own home, perpetrated not by the government, but by your coffee machine?

Consider every appliance and every piece of home electronics that you own. Does it gather data about how you use it? Does it connect to the Internet? If so, it could be used to spy on you. Your mobile devices, your TV, and now various other types of home appliances can be wired into a network that can track you. If those networks are hacked, information about your habits and behaviors could be available to people with nefarious goals. The same…

You’ve gone to the open house. You’ve had a private showing. You’ve read the disclosures. You’ve decided this is the house for you, and you’re ready to make an offer.

Before you take that step, though, you should fully check out the neighborhood. After all, this is where you’re going to live for years. Is there something you don’t know about that could negatively affect the resale value later? Is there a neighbor who comes roaring home late at night on a muffler-free motorcycle? Is the next-door neighbor operating a day care for pre-schoolers?

Here are five ways to investigate a neighborhood before you buy.

1. Talk to the neighbors

Without being intrusive, look for an opportunity to chat with your potential…
