Three residential projects, all in the construction phase, could add up to nearly 650 new residences to the Issaquah Highlands.

The projects are designated as official Urban Villages, according to Lucy Sloman, land development manager for the city. All three projects are making use of the city’s standardized Urban Village zoning.

  • Issaquah Terrace, also known as Lakeside Terrace, will consist of 268 rental units in 12 garden-style buildings with additional rental townhouses along Lupine Street in the narrow throat of the project site. It is being developed by Polygon Northwest, and sits northeast of the Issaquah Highlands Park & Ride.

R.I.P. McNugget

R.I.P. McNugget

ISSAQUAH — McNugget, a beloved bantam rooster known to frequent an Issaquah parking lot and espresso stand, was killed Tuesday night by a neighborhood dog that escaped its residence.

“It’s so sad,” said Your Espresso stand owner Michelle Schneider. “My customers have been bawling all morning.”

McNugget has been a fixture and tourist attraction in Issaquah ever since it escaped a grain supply store 13 years ago and made its  home in the parking lot. The rooster, known to split its days between the coffee shop, parking lot and nearby Staples store, was the feature of many media pieces, including one by the Seattle Times.

Schneider said she received a call from one of her well-known customers late Tuesday night, saying she saw…

I recently saw a Facebook post from a real estate agent mentioning that a consumer looked at 250 houses with eight different practitioners before finally making a purchase. You should have seen the comments on that post. You’d think that wretched consumer should be burned at the stake! What heresy! How dare a consumer waste professionals’ time like that!

Excuse me. Why is everyone so sure the consumer is the bad guy here?

We all know some clients are more difficult to work with than others, but that doesn’t automatically put them at fault when things don’t work out between you. They might have moved on because you didn’t up…

KIRKLAND, Washington (April 6, 2015) – Buyer anxiety is rising as the pace of home sales is faster than brokers are able to replenish inventory, according to members of Northwest Multiple Listing Service. Figures just released for March show 11,408 pending sales during the month while only 10,505 sellers listed their homes for sale during the same period.

"The frenzy market has returned and is in full bloom in King and Snohomish counties. Listings are selling as soon as they come on the market for sale," said J. Lennox Scott, chairman and CEO of John L. Scott Real Estate.

The multiple offer market has become commonplace on well-priced new listings, observed John Deely, principal managing broker at Coldwell Banker Bain. However, he cautioned,…
